Production and degradability analysis of environmental friendly vacuum aluminized paper (Part I)

Abstract: vacuum aluminized paper is a kind of green environmental friendly printing and packaging material. This paper expounds the production process, influencing factors and application of vacuum aluminized paper from the perspective of protecting the environment and promoting green packaging, and evaluates its degradation performance

green packaging refers to packaging that is harmless to the ecological environment and human health, can be recycled or reused, and can promote sustainable development. Developed countries in the world have determined that packaging should comply with the "4r+1d" principle, that is, low consumption, development of new green materials, reuse, recycling and degradability. It is under the guidance of this environmental protection concept that vacuum aluminized paper meets the development requirements of contemporary printing and packaging industry. Vacuum aluminized paper, also known as aluminum spray paper, is a new green packaging material widely used in the packaging industry since the 1980s. Because of its noble and beautiful metal texture, relatively low material cost, good packaging flexibility, stable and reliable printing performance, and degradable and recyclable environmental protection performance, it is more and more loved by the printing and packaging industry, and its application range is also more and more extensive

at present, vacuum aluminized paper is mainly used in the following aspects:

(1) vacuum aluminized beer label paper

(2) vacuum aluminized cigarette lining paper

(3) vacuum aluminized cardboard

(4) vacuum aluminized food packaging paper

vacuum aluminized paper is a recyclable and degradable packaging material for aluminum foil composite paperboard and pet peritoneal paperboard. Aluminum foil composite paper is a kind of composite cardboard formed by combining aluminum foil and cardboard. It has the disadvantages of high production cost and non environmental protection, and is gradually replaced by vacuum aluminized paper. From the perspective of protecting the environment and promoting green packaging, this paper expounds the production raw materials, production technology and application of vacuum aluminized paper, which is a green packaging environmental protection material, and evaluates its degradation performance

1.1 production process of vacuum aluminized paper

vacuum aluminized paper can be divided into direct method (paper surface spraying aluminum) and transfer method (film surface spraying aluminum) according to the production process. The direct method is the method that the base paper is directly put into the vacuum aluminizing machine for aluminum spraying after surface treatment. The process flow is shown in Figure 1. This method is limited to aluminum spraying on tissue paper

1.2 performance and influencing factors of vacuum aluminized paper

It is widely used in the exquisite packaging of cigarettes, alcohol, food, tea, medicine, handicrafts, etc. Some can also be used as building decoration materials after special processing

vacuum aluminized paper has good gloss, high smoothness, and the metal texture is brighter than the aluminum covered material. Especially the transfer aluminized paper has bright color, bright appearance and strong visual sense. At the same time, it also has excellent barrier property, moisture-proof and oxidation resistance, which is no less than that of aluminum coated paper. The biggest feature of vacuum aluminized paper is that its printing performance and machining performance are superior to aluminum coated paper and film coated paper, and the ink will not burst. It is suitable for gravure printing, offset printing, flexographic printing and silk printing. It can also directly carry out embossing, die cutting, embossing and other processes. In the production process of vacuum aluminized paper, the performance of base paper is very critical, which will affect the quality of vacuum aluminized paper. For the printing and packaging industry, especially the cigarette packaging industry, the performance of paper is mainly divided into the following four categories:

1) basic performance: thickness, gram weight, density, moisture uniformity

2) appearance data: whiteness, hue, gloss, smoothness, printability, ink absorption uniformity

3) strength data: stiffness, internal bond force, Z-direction tension, MIT folding resistance, tensile strength

4) operation data: molding, gluing, bending, printing and packaging operation performance; As a kind of high-grade bag, the special structure of aluminized transfer cigarette card leads to changes in performance. The packaging material has high requirements for the smoothness of the backing paper. At the same time, because the stripping of aluminum foil to the paper surface will largely reflect the texture of the paper surface, this process also emphasizes that the material surface texture of the backing paper should be smooth and delicate.
