first, founder font and its application in pspnt

founder of Peking University is the first unit engaged in Chinese computer research and production in China, and more than 70% of Chinese printed materials use founder font. Founder font conforms to the national pen shape specification, and has passed the identification of national authorities twice. Experts from the National New Materials Advisory Committee have been invited to give lectures. It is a font widely used by government departments, education departments and publishing units. Because there are many kinds of products in founder font library, in order to make you better use of PSP, the research team has also invented a new breeding technology NT that uses degradation enzymes as "switches" to control the relative molecular weight and concentration of products. founder font has two formats: TrueType (also known as display font or front-end font) and postscript (also known as typesetting font or back-end font). Postscript is divided into type0 compound font and CID font

truetype front-end display font

refers to the font installed on the typesetting host for screen display (although the construction industry also has the responsibility to ensure that it reaches other goals set by the government and society, the font can be used in Feiteng, book edition, word and other software, but non founder software cannot use 748 code font). The font used in Feiteng typesetting is the display font, and the common ones are 748 code, GB, GBK, BIG5, super large font set, etc

founder Lanting: it can be used for the standard truety PE word library on windows95/2000 platform, which is applicable to all general software and founder software on Windows platform. GB, Big5 and GBK codes are available

founder smart hand: it can be used in mactruetype font library on Mac platform, which is applicable to all general software on MacOS platform, and provides GB and Big5 codes

founder Lanting font can be installed on PC platform for typesetting design, and founder miaoshou font can be installed on Mac platform for typesetting design

postscript back-end typesetting library

refers to the font used for typesetting in the back-end output settings (such as imagesetter and printer), also known as PS font (this font is installed on the back-end RIP software, such as psppro and pspnt). The typesetting library cannot be displayed on the screen. According to different codes, founder typesetting font can be divided into 748, GB, GBK, BIG5, super large font set, etc

founder typesetting font and founder display font are one-to-one corresponding

Fangzheng Wenyun: the postscripttype0 font library that can be installed on the pspnt can be installed directly from the PC or Mac, providing 748, GB, Big5 and GBK codes. When the output device connected to the pspnt exceeds 1450dpi, the fangzheng Wenyun font library cannot be used for output

founder Tianshu: the format is the same as that of Founder rhyme, but it can be output on devices with more than 1450dpi. After installing founder Wenyun font library or founder Tianshu font library, there will be two subdirectories, fonts and fzdata, under the directory of pspnt

founder CID font: pspnt's special font, which provides 748, GB, Big5 and GBK encoding formats, and provides a set of super large font

founder CID font is installed in the font directory of pspnt by default

if the front-end typesetting software uses founder Lanting and founder miaoshou font libraries, the corresponding Lanting font library is not installed on the pspnt, and you can output it by selecting the TrueType font option of windows system in the reset dialog box. Similarly, you can also install Hanyi TrueType font on the pspnt host for output. However, it should be noted that if the font is deformed in the front-end typesetting software (such as QuarkXPress, freehand), a syntax error will be reported if the TrueType word or CID word is output

when resetting the font in pspnt, there will be a problem with the sequence of font recognition. When the TrueType font option of windows system is selected, first the TrueType font under Windows system, and then identify the founder CID and type1 font specified in the font path. If the third-party font such as founder Tianshu, founder Wenyun and Hanyi postscripttype0 is installed, then the third-party font will be recognized finally, That is, the font under pspnt/fonts. When the font of these three formats has duplicate names, the last recognized font is used for output

II. Font classification in Feiteng

font classification in Feiteng falls into three categories: system English, founder Chinese and system Chinese

1. System English

refers to the English fonts in the windowsfonts (WIN2000 is in the winntfounts) directory. The feature of system English is simply WYSIWYG. It can be used in Feiteng, book edition, word, Photoshop and other software

2. Founder Chinese

the font developed by Founder Company according to its own standards, also known as 748 encoded font, such as Baosong (founder) is founder Chinese. The characteristic of Founder Chinese is that it is only applicable to founder software, which cannot be seen in non founder software, let alone used

another feature of Founder Chinese is that some fonts can be truly displayed (this font needs to have the corresponding GBK font, such as song reporting (founder), if there is a song reporting by founder_ If the GBK font library corresponds to it, it can be displayed realistically, that is, what you see is what you get), while some fonts cannot be displayed realistically. You can only know what it looks like after generating PS files and outputting them through RIP software

many friends asked: since founder Chinese can't be used in other software, and some fonts can't be displayed truly, why use it

in fact, one of the biggest differences between founder software and other typesetting software is that founder has its own font, and the accuracy of Founder font is not available in other font

for a simple example, there are two lines of text, both of which are the people's Republic of China, with No. 5 characters. In one line, you choose the fine circle (founder), and in the other line, you choose the founder fine circle, and then generate a PS file. Output it with psp31. What will you see? Try it

3. System Chinese

refers to the Chinese fonts that meet the national unified standards, that is, the Chinese fonts under windowsfonts (WIN2000 is in winntfonts) directory. The Chinese of the system includes the fonts of windows, founder Lanting (i.e. GB coded fonts), GBK fonts (book version 9 or 10 with 46, Feiteng has only 9), and fonts of other manufacturers (such as Hanyi, wending, great wall, classic, etc.). The characteristic of the Chinese system is that what you see is what you get. Almost all graphic design software and typesetting software support the Chinese system
